We employ a highly skilled product development and engineering team working in close cooperation with our customers at all stages of product introduction, i.e. product development, commercialisation and serial manufacturing.

SmartMotor is has been approved as an R&D partner by the Norwegian Research Council and we are at any given time actively engaged in a number of research programmes. We have a closed R&D portfolio of MNOK ~400 for Offshore Wind, Wave and Marine and are currently involved in several large projects, e.g. 10 MW Wind Generator, Small Hydro, Downhole & Subsea and Marine Propulsion.

SmartMotor holds several patents related to our core technology and designs, thus protecting our customers and the innovations we provide.  Our patent portfolio consists of a combination of core- and application-related patents and is strongly related to our innovation and manufacturing concepts.

Our family of in-house developed design tools (SmartTool) enables efficiency and scalability in our engineering processes. The integrated tool set combines state-of-the-art engineering tools incorporating the core knowledge that we have acquired from engineering projects over the course of more than 10 years.
